This is a ‘parenting’ book with a difference, as it gives zero parenting advice! Instead it compassionately teaches us that self-care and resilience are your superpowers when it comes to raising a family. It address 11 of the most common parenting pitfalls (e.g. losing your shit with your kids; kids with anxiety; setting boundaries etc.) and presents them in relatable scenarios based on real-life experiences. With practical and immediately actionable tips for effectively dealing with these pitfalls both in the moment, and on a longer term basis if you choose, there is something in this book for every parent.
Charlotte’s e-book is a very helpful resource for parents, or people supporting parents. While parents are often told what to do in response to child behaviour, we are rarely told how to implement the strategies, or how to manage our own self-regulation in situations with our children Charlotte’s book describes small steps parents can take to help ourselves regulate before responding to our children, as well as outlining bigger changes we can make to our own self-care. I will be taking the phrase “What do I need for myself right now?” into my parenting and into my work with parents.

This book accompanied the intensive training programme delivered to groups of aspiring coaches from 2006 to 2011.
